The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 727

Allison had just wrapped up a long day on set when she finally got back to her hotel room. She was barely settled in when her phone buzzed—it was Daisy Santos.

“Allie, you there?” Daisy's voice trembled through the speaker.

“What’s up, Daisy?” Allison hadn’t seen her friend in ages, caught up with her relentless filming schedule.

“Allie, I’m freaking out. I don’t know who else to talk to... Frances Boswell, I think he’s... he’s not gonna make it.” Daisy’s sobbing filled Allison’s ear.

Allison furrowed her brow. “What happened?”

Daisy had married Frances, but his health had taken a nosedive. He went from daily walks in the park to being bedridden within weeks, his body now riddled with tubes and monitors.

Feeling utterly helpless, Daisy had reached out to Allison, the only person she felt could understand.

Allison gripped her phone tighter. “Don’t worry, Daisy. He’ll pull through.”

Daisy’s voice was raw with emotion. “After that car crash, he’s had so many complications. The doctors—they say he’s at the end of the road.” She couldn’t grasp the cruel twist of fate. She had fallen for Frances, only to have him slip away just as their life together was starting.

“Where are you now?” Allison asked, trying to steady her voice.

“At Mercy General Hospital.”

Allison called Tom immediately.

That very night, Tom drove her for an hour to Mercy General. The ICU was on the ground floor, and Allison rushed there as soon as they arrived.
