The Babysitter novel Chapter 45

Chapter 45: (Aubrey's POV)- Roller-skating

I was currently leaning against the skating rink, waiting for Xavier to finish tying my laces up which he so kindly offered to do. Once he tied those up for me, I stepped into the rink with him close behind me.

We had just got here but the place was beginning to get empty, I guess people like to come here later in the evening but because we have nothing to do, we decided on staying. We waited around at the entrance and within five minutes the whole place was empty except for the one guy working the counter.

I haven't skated in a long time and I loved it as a kid and even now, so I'm glad that I'm doing it now with no one except Xavier watching me fall flat on my face and laugh at me. I skated over to one end of the rink and turned around to see Xavier still in the same spot.

I'm not going to lie, I kind of forgot I was here with Xavier and just began doing my own thing. Skating around, taking laps of the rink, spinning in circles, lifting one leg occasionally. It feels good to know I still have a little of my hidden talent in me.

I was getting a little tired of skating around by myself and watching Xavier in one spot this entire time, so I took it upon myself to make him skate. I skated over to his end and grabbed his hand, literally dragging him along with me.

"We're here for roller skating, you can't just stand there," I spoke, glancing behind to see him smiling while looking at our held hands. I shook my head before he skated until he was in front of me and began skating backward, his body facing mine.

"I can't skate and do tricks like you, but what I can do is sit still and look pretty!" he pouted, letting my hands go and placing them under his chin, exaggerating an overly girly expression.

"That's all you have to do. You had me at I can't skate," I laughed before kissing his cheek.

"Excuse me guys," the guy working approached us, "I have to leave for me break so..." he awkwardly trailed off.

"We'll head out." I nodded before he smiled and left. We skated out of the rink and Xavier took off his skates before untying mine and take them off for me.

We got out shoes back and then left. "Now where are we heading?" I asked as I got onto the bike, pulling my dress down a bit.

"Ice cream?" he asked while turning slightly to where he could see me from the corner of his eye.

"Yes!" I squealed in excitement. He chuckled before beginning to ride away. We got there in roughly five minutes before I got off and shook my head a little, throwing my hair that managed to escape my ponytail out of my face.

We walked hand in hand and ordered before taking out seats in a booth. "Hello, besties!" I turned my head in the direction of the voice to see Vi and Ace approaching us and Vi sliding into the seat beside me while Ace sat beside Xavier.

"I spy with my little eye you two little lovebirds are on a little date. Monitor?" Ace spoke up before turning to Xavier.

"That thing comes off too, honey." Vi gave him a pointed look.

"I know it does, honey. I'm just worried about my little boyfriend here." Ace hugged Xavier's arm as Xavier gave him a weird look.

"You'd do that to me? I'm wounded." I feigned hurt while looking into Xavier's eyes.

"Never babe, bro get off." Xavier chuckled while pulling his arm out of Ace's grip.

"Ouch! I feel so loved." Ace smiled at him sarcastically. "So, how'd you two kiss and make up?" Ace questioned.

"He confessed his undying love for me. You were there, tell us about it!" I stated, resting my arms on the table, leaning forward. Ace laughed before Violet cut in.

"You, pretty boy, better not break my best friend's heart. She better not be crying cause of you." Violet narrowed her eyes down to slits at Xavier.

"Over my dead body." he looked straight into my eyes while answering her before our ice creams arrived.

"Cookies n' cream, chocolate, strawberry, and mint chocolate for the lovely couples." the owner of the parlor, Samantha handed all of us our ice creams, I guess Ace and Vi asked for theirs to be sent here once they saw us.

She announced our orders with delight but then turned to us in confusion as to who gets what since she wasn't the one taking our orders.

"Samantha," I greeted her while laughing slightly before standing up and grabbing all the ice creams before handing them the ones they ordered. Except for Xavier's I took his too. I ordered cookies n' cream, Parker ordered chocolate and I know Vi is a weirdo who likes mint chocolate chip.
