The Babysitter novel Chapter 42

Chapter 42: (Aubrey's POV)- Stunning

"Are you delusional?" I uttered the words out before I could comprehend, putting the message across in the opposite way. "Let me try that again." I placed my hands on his chest. "You genuinely mean that?" I repeated.

Yes, I just asked him to confirm earlier and now that he has I'm asking him to confirm again. It feels a little too good to be true, I hope it's not, I do but the fear will swallow me whole. "I'm starting to think you want a different answer..." he spoke skeptically.

"I'm just uh- having a hard time believing it. It seems a little too good to be true," I sighed.

"It's true, Carthy, it's real and it's amazing to me that I was able to say it so please save me from the embarrassment and humiliation and please give me an answer, any answer." he chuckled softly.

"Before I give you an answer, did you really have to curse while confessing? I mean who associates curses with love, it's such a pure concept why'd you have to-" I stopped myself when I saw impatience cross his eyes.

"Okay, okay." I laughed. "Parker, I love you. I. Love. You. And it might swallow me whole and you will be the death of me, but I love-" he cut me off before I'd say it again and smoothly pressed my lips to his.

Oh, how I missed that.

Aubrey shut the fuck up.

Won't you look at that, I'm cursing now. Seriously though, can we take a second to acknowledge how much more I've been cursing even if it's just in my head. I find that a little funny but it's not the best fact, unfortunately, there's nothing much I can do now. I pulled away after a moment.

"Hands to yourself, Parker." I pinched his cheek before pulling away and going into the kitchen. "So, since you confessed your undying love for me, does that mean you lost your game?" I teased as I put a toast in the toaster and grabbed an avocado. Avocado and toast it is.

"Since you confessed yours back, I'll gladly accept my defeat." he grinned while watching my every move cautiously.

"Well, I'll gladly accept my win." I smiled as the toaster finished preparing my toast for me. I quickly pulled it out and spread avocado on it before taking a bite.

"Aubrey, let's go on a date tonight." he walked over to my side and took a bite out of my toast before grabbing a glass and getting himself apple juice.

"Sheriff?" I questioned while taking another bite.

"Right..." he trailed off probably realizing that no one could take the monitor off. "How about you dress yourself all pretty while I do the same and I'll take you to the backyard at seven? If we can't go out on a date, I'll bring the date here." he placed his hands on either side of me, trapping me between the counter and him.

"Sounds like a plan." I quickly took a bite before placing the rest of the toast in his mouth and getting away and up the stairs where I looked through my bag to find... nothing. "I take it you need a dress?" I turned to see him leaning against the doorframe.

"I'll be back in ten." I smiled and kissed his cheek before grabbing my phone and rushing down the stairs and out of the house, grabbing my keys just in time before getting on my bike.

I rode away with a grin on my face, focusing on the street. Soon enough, I pulled into my driveway and got off the bike before it even stopped. I grabbed my keys, looking down at my feet as I walked, and looking up, stopping dead in my tracks.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I spat out while rooting myself to my spot subconsciously.

"So you're swearing now, I guess he's great for you," he scoffed. I swear to god I will punch this guy.

"What the fuck are you doing here? Leave me alone." I repeated with a huff, irritation shining through my voice.

"I just came here to apologize, okay? I was drunk Aubrey I-" I cut him off.

"You were drunk so what, Peter? You weren't fucking wasted, you could've stopped." I gave him a pointed look.

"Aubrey, I was fucking drunk! Let it go!" he raised his voice a little bit. I scoffed,

"So next time, don't get drunk to the point where you can't keep your dick in your pants." I rolled my eyes at him before telling him to leave, again. "Get out of here, Peter," I demanded.
