The Art Of Revenge (Thalia Nash and Brandon) novel Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Thalia’s Pov

As the judge gave out the final divorce judgment, I kept squirming and pulling on my sweater. My mind went completely blank. I already knew the outcome at the back of my mind. While I was idle, foolish, and stup*d in love, he planned it all out, calculated it, waited, and struck.

I turned my head and glanced at the man who was expecting the same outcome, noticing his mouth curve into a smile. He turned to face the back of the room forcing me to shift my eyes to match his.

She was in the rear seat, dressed in a yellow dress, a white bonnet, and wearing her customary fine jewelry. She returned my attention with a sarcastic smile. I could see that her ostentatious appearance was a product of my wealth, my birthright.

He spent it all on her: her hair, her jewelry, her nails, her pedicure, manicure, and even her shoes, everything down to her pant.

“Hey, Miss Nash?” My lawyer called my name, “Miss Nash,” but I ignored him. The judge had scarcely read out the verdict for two seconds when the m*ron began addressing me by my maiden name.

I couldn’t take my eyes away from the other woman, who couldn’t even wait for him in the parking lot or at their villa. The villa which they both shared and was purchased with my money, my birthright money.

Everything they possessed was mine, and the court just ruled on the company and handed it to them because I was so foolish as to sign on every piece of paper he placed in front of me. In front of him, I used to behave like a naive sixteen-year-old who got proposed to for the first time. I had no idea he was methodically robbing me of everything that I owned.

When I looked around, I observed that everyone was up on their feet. I followed suit and rose from my drenched seat as a result of my incessant sweating.

He moved up to her without shame and they kissed passionately for the entire world to watch. They were giving out indications that they didn’t have anything to hide, that they hadn’t done anything wrong. Most importantly, it was a calculated attempt to offend me and make me shed

more tears.

My lawyer spoke up again, but I ignored him and went to stare at my now-ex-husband. Yes, you’ve heard the scenario before: the husband. dumps his boring wife for a more attractive woman. Well sorry to blow your bubble, mine was different.

It started four years ago when Biotech company, a company owned by Josh Nelson, that’s the man who just divorced me and left me with nothing. His company was on the verge of bankruptcy when his father, my late Father’s best friend, came up with a proposal. And together with my father, they decided to merge their companies.

My father’s company was INc biotech and it had just invented a new gadget that was making billions and saving lives.

My father, being a good guy, approved of the union, which was cemented with the marriage of their children, which was me and Josh. I was ecstatic about the wedding because I’d always had a thing for Josh. It was as if a fantasy had come true.

And, as the only child of my father, the business was already in my name. To cut a long tale short, we married, and everything was OK until my father died two years ago. That’s when I met Josh Nelson, the animal.

I stared at the lovely cheating couple as they left the courtroom.

“Miss Nash!” When the lawyer called again, I eventually turned around and stared at him through tears. Because he felt terrible for me, his eyes. could not even establish eye could not even establish eye contact. All of the lawyers had turned down my case because my signature was all over the place, but Derrick only accepted it because he was the husband of one of my high school. classmates.

He had already told me that the chances were stacked against me, but that he would do everything he could to get me something or establish that Josh had duped me into signing Everything..

“I’m sorry, Thalia, but we can still appeal this judgment,” he said quietly.

I wiped away my tears and thanked him profusely. He nodded and attempted to speak, but I hurriedly grabbed my handbag. turned, and began walking out of the courtroom.

I ran into Melissa, Derrick’s wife, at the exit door and she hugged me. “I’m very sorry,” she said, “if you need anything or a place to stay, please don’t hesitate to ask me,” but I just nodded and walked away.

I didn’t want to trouble her anymore because she had already done so much for me. I entered the ladies’ restroom and stared at the helpless figure in the mirror. The biggest knucklehead, the sc*mbag who was tossed into the trash.

When a woman entered, I went down and pretended to wash my face, which allowed me to cry even more as I continued to pour water on my face. My sweater was completely saturated by the time I came to a halt. I sneered at my idiocy and insignificance.

My father had given me the sweater I was wearing as a birthday present when I was about sixteen years old, but with all the money he left me, I couldn’t even buy myself a new sweater because Josh had complete control over all of my finances, and it never occurred to me that he had never bought me anything until then.

To be honest, I never asked him to take me shopping, nor did I ever want to go shopping. I was the ideal housewife, focused on making sure he ate home-cooked meals and getting pregnant for him, etc.

Yes, you read that correctly: I was the owner of a multibillion-dollar corporation in which I had no knowledge and had no interest. Josh Nelson was the center of my universe, and he was the only thing that mattered to me, yet he betrayed me.
