Flirting With My Ex-husband novel Chapter 23

Scarlett stopped her car at Clear Waters after half an hour.

She had booked the place before leaving home, hence she was brought to a window seat right after she gave her name.

Nonetheless, the situation was rather absurd. Scarlett, Alexis, and Michael had not yet sat, and they saw Raymond and Julie sitting at a table behind them from afar.

The events from a month ago were still fresh in their minds. When Alexis recalled the day Julie purposely brought the old witch to find trouble with Scarlett, she was ready to roll up her sleeves and start a new fight.

That said, before she could say anything, Scarlett lifted her hand and stopped her. "Do you not want to eat?"

She faintly swept her gaze at Alexis with her peach blossom eyes. Alexis opened her mouth but sat honestly in the end.

'Forget it, I’ll pretend as if I didn’t see this cheating couple!'

Even so, when Alexis saw the menu, she quickly forgot who was sitting behind her. She looked at Scarlett with grievances. "Lettie, you're not going to be so cruel as to let me eat salad only, right?"

Scarlet took a sip of hot coffee. "Order what you want but don't tell Elder Sister Nicole that it was on me."

“Don’t worry, I won't sell you out!"

Scarlett did not say too much to her. She handed the menu to Michael across the table. "Feel free to order whatever you like."

Alexis was the kind of person who could talk to anyone. Michael was cold and did not talk much but since Scarlett was here, Alexis blabbered away about what she encountered during the commercial shoots. The atmosphere at the table was very cordial.

As compared to their table, Raymond and Julie’s side was extremely stiff and cold.

"Ray?"

Ever since they sat, Raymond had almost been giving Julie a long face. Earlier when Julie saw Scarlett and the others, she thought that she had won.

Who knew, Raymond only looked coldly at Julie without any expression. A look of impatience could clearly be seen inside his dark eyes. "Where's Mr.

Woods?"

Julie's face stiffened a little. "My dad is delayed on the road. He'll arrive soon."

Raymond stood up right away. "Then we'll talk again when Mr. Woods isn't delayed."

Julie was somewhat flustered. "Ray-"

The man stopped after taking just two steps away.

Julie looked delighted, but she did not expect to hear the other party warning her mercilessly at the next second. "We're not close so please call me Mr. Shaw next time."

"Pfft-"

Alexis burst out laughing as she could not hold it in at that moment.

Scarlett glanced at her, warning her not to be so unrestrained. Raymond was not as easy to mess with a s Julie, so they should just be quiet onlookers.

Alexis immediately stopped laughing when Scarlett looked at her. She sat there seriously.

Scarlett lifted her hand and was about to take a lobster near her when someone acted faster than her and put one on her small plate.

She was stunned for a while, which was rare, then she looked up at Michael opposite her in confusion.

"I was going to take one anyway."

There was nothing unusual about how Michael looked. He withdrew his hand and he let go of the lobster in his hand as though he was purely helping Scarlett to take a lobster.

Since he was so calm, Scarlett smiled as well." Thanks."

Raymond happened to see this when he left and walked past their table. He furrowed his eyebrows slightly but did not stop at all. He strode away and left.

Despite that, after just taking a few steps away, he turned back again with a cold face.

"Come out for a while."

Such a cold male voice all of a sudden? When Raymond came back in, the three people at the table were obviously shocked.

Alexis looked at Scarlett then at Raymond. In the end, she sat still and did not dare to move like a cowardly cat.

Scarlett had just deshelled her lobster, so her hands were sticky. She took a wet towel on the side and wiped her hands while she asked Raymond, "Can I help you, Mr. Shaw?"
