Chapter 588 She Knows Our Purpose

Some rich ladies went talking with Sophia, trying to fawn over her in every possible way.
"What a surprise! Mr. Riley is the King of the Underworld. No wonder there were rumors about the King of the Underworld and you, Ms. Lawson. It turned out that Mr. Riley was protecting you!"
"Mrs. Riley, you are so lucky. Mr. Riley loves you so much."
"Yes, Mrs. Riley, how did you manage to tame your husband? Do you have any secret to share?"
Sophia was not interested in these topics. And she knew those people were just trying to please her.
And their topics were boring.
Sophia spilled some wine on herself on purpose.
"Excuse me."
Sophia finally got to leave.
Sara came over with the clothes prepared for Sophia. "I found a room where you can change clothes, Ms. Lawson, go get changed!"
Sophia rejected Sara. "No, I am leaving now."
Leaving?
If Sophia left, what Sara and Rashad had done would be in vain.
"Ms. Lawson, the banquet is not over yet. Are you sure you are leaving now?"
Sophia stopped in her tracks and looked at Sara when she heard this.
"Sara, don't you see what's the banquet for? Or, you don't care about this at all. So why are you trying to make me stay? Do you have some ulterior motives?"
Sara froze for a moment, "How come? Ms. Lawson, I just..."
Sophia didn't want to hear her excuse.
"The clothes are yours now. Bye."
With that said, Sophia went out and got into the car with which she had come.
Rashad waited for a long time. Sara came to him when no one was paying attention.
"Where is Sophia? I asked you to bring her over. Where is she now?"
"Sorry, I failed to persuade her to stay. She has left."
"Useless! You guys never disappointed me again and again. How did you promise me? You said you could make it. And now, where is she? What's the difference between you and Molly or Jessica? "
Sara had tried her best. But Sophia didn't listen as if she knew it was a trap. There wasn't anything else Sara could do.
"Mr. Witt, I suspect she knows our plan."
"That's because..."
Rashad suddenly thought of something.
Sophia was so smart. She couldn't possibly be fooled. Had she really noticed their plan?
"Okay, you may leave!"
Rashad felt annoyed. Although he had guessed that Drake was the King of the Underworld, when this guess was confirmed, he felt something else.
He wanted to humiliate Drake today, but...
He decided to forget it since he believed he would have other chances.
Drake heard that Sophia had left.
Drake panicked immediately. He thought Sophia wasn't angry, but he was wrong. He knew Sophia well. How could she possibly not be angry? She appeared not, just because she didn't want to argue with him in public.
Drake told Paul to take care of the things here and then left.
When he got home, he called, "Sophia? Sophia?"
No one responded.
Drake's first reaction was that Sophia may have left!
He panicked.
He searched for her room by room. The servant was confused by his behavior.
"Mr. Riley, are you looking for Mrs. Riley?"
"Yes, where did Sophia go?"
"Mrs. Riley is on the top floor. She hasn't come out since she came back."
Drake looked up and asked again. "Are you sure she hasn't left?"
"Yes, I've been here since she came back, so I'm pretty sure."
Drake rushed upstairs.
When he was about to open the door, he found that it was locked.
At that point, Drake was sure that Sophia hadn't left.
Drake knocked on the door. "Sophia, open the door. It's me. Can we talk?"
She made no response.
"Sophia, I know you're angry. Come out. You can hit me, scold me, or do anything. Would you please open the door?"
She made no response.
But Drake believed that she must have heard him.
"I am sorry. I shouldn't have hidden it from you. Sophia, punish me the way you want. Just don't be angry. Please."
