Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 157

After they got everything done hurriedly, Hanna changed into the clothes Adelaide had prepared for her. Then, lying on the bed, they looked at each other and laughed.

Adelaide took Hanna's hand first with a guilty expression. She dropped her eyes and whispered, "I'm sorry, Hanna. I shouldn't have said those words to you that day!"

Hanna was used to being unconcerned and therefore not accustomed to receive apologies from other people, especially Adelaide. Hearing it gave her goose bumps. She pretended to be angry and unwilling to forgive her, shook off her hand and turned her head to the other side, asking awkwardly, "Why didn't you come to find me then?"

Ah. It wasn't that Adelaide was unwilling to find Hanna. Obviously, she felt guilty and did not dare to find her. Afraid that Hanna would not forgive her, Adelaide lifted the thin quilt and moved closer to Hanna. She held Hanna into her arms from her back and said apologetically, "I want to find you, but I'm too embarrassed to go."

Hearing this, Hanna turned around and knocked lightly on her forehead with her index finger to punish her, "Forget it. I've also hit you today. I'll take it as a punishment for your wronging me that day." After a pause, she changed her expression, looked at Adelaide with serious expression and said, "But you mustn't wrong me in the future! You mustn't say that I like your Antonio. I don't like that megalomaniac at all!"

Megalomaniac?

Adelaide couldn't help laughing when she remembered what Antonio was like when he raised his head and looked down on the people around him without any expression on his handsome face.

Then she nodded solemnly and swore to herself that she would never say those stupid words in the future.

This was the case with best friends. They always quarreled over trivial matters, but there would always be one person who bowed to the other one first. Then, they would chat with each other without reserve, just like before. They would also talk about what they thought and what they wanted to do after they quarreled and ignored each other.

They fell asleep when they hugged each other. The first thing Antonio did after he went home was to come to Adelaide's room to see if she was still there. He didn't have the habit of knocking on the door before entering into a room, especially when the room was Adelaide's.

He opened the door as he used to and saw them hugging each other with a very indecent sleeping posture. He was shocked. Before he lost his mind in anger, he walked into the room and found that the person with a very poor sleeping posture was actually Hanna.

Even he himself didn't understand why he was much relieved when he saw the person lying there clearly.

The air-conditioner was set to 15 degrees Celsius, but the quilt was kicked to the corner. He helplessly walked over to cover them with the quilt and tucked Adelaide in. Adelaide was smiling. Maybe she was having a sweet dream. Antonio couldn't help putting his hand on her lips. Her lips were soft and he could feel her warm breath.

Seeing this, Antonio also calmed down and smiled like she did. His heart suddenly missed a beat. Adelaide had been rarely seen being quiet and smiling, or Antonio rarely saw her in such status.

Since the day he was asked out by Clarissa and said those words that he shouldn't have said, they were always cold to each other and at daggers drawn. Antonio couldn't help being attracted by her softness and gently touched her nose. Adelaide, who was asleep, felt uncomfortable, turned over and murmured, "Hanna, stop!"

Antonio smiled, got up and quietly left, casually closing the door for them.

Time passed quickly. Soon, a month had passed.

Antonio and Adelaide hardly quarreled any more, but it could be seen that their relationship was stretched to the breaking point. Every time they were in the same room, the atmosphere was frozen.

They were just like two strangers.
