Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 37

Though Jerry just returned for a few days and had just come to this company for a few times, popular men would not become unpopular in just a new environment. Especially with his handsome face that could charm young girls to death, he made it hard to not like him.

Whenever the young girl at the front desk saw him now, she would always lower her head and blushed shamefully, whispering to him which floor Antonio was on.

He gave her an untamed and evil grin,

"Okay, got it!"

Learning from her that Antonio was still bored in his office, he gave an air kiss to the girl.

This made the girl blushed even more. Somehow this rough behavior looked so graceful from him.

That kiss could be anything but obnoxious.

Koby saw him too, so he nodded to him, smiling, then went back to his own businesses.

Once Jerry pushed open the door, he saw the man sitting over there with a dreadful face, as if nothing was pleasing in his eyes. He shrugged, walked up to Antonio’s desk in big strides, and took a slight leap to sit on the desk.

"Hey Antonio, it's just a stock drop, how can someone smart as you get troubled by it?

What is this bitter face for?"

What the Barons was experiencing recently had gone viral in the business field. Not only his father talked about it, but all those other nameless ones gossiped about it too as an after-tea story. It was hard to not know about it!

"That problem was solved!"

Antonio faintly answered him. Just as how he always treasured words, he did not say any unnecessary lines.

Jerry raised his eyebrows, "How come you look like this if you solved it then?"

While at the same time, Antonio was doused in his own thoughts. He remembered that there was a very popular video of an elementary school in a parent-teacher conference. She wrote down some math problems on the blackboard, then answered on her own without saying a word.

One plus one equals two; two plus two equals four; three plus three equals six; and four plus four equals four!

Once the chalk fell, some parents said,

"Teacher, the fourth answer is wrong!"

The teacher smiled and nodded in agreement without turning around to check the answer,

"You are all correcting my mistake, but why is there nobody praising me for getting the first three right?"

This is what Adelaide saw online before. She absolutely agreed with the teacher, and even asked Antonio to watch it with her again, and talked about how they had to praise their children in the future too as what the teacher said.

He vividly remembered sneering at the video at the time, because he thought it was normal for a teacher to be right in the classroom, and also normal for parents to point out the mistakes when the teacher was wrong.

However, now he was deeply aware of that teacher's feelings.

Yes, the Barons’ stock did go down, but he amazingly put it back on track in just one day.

Even so, no one would remember that the teacher got three questions right, and no one would remember that Antonio got the stock back up in one day on his own. People would just remember one thing: he was wrong!

"Hey!

Antonio!"

Seeing him wandering off when he was talking to him, Jerry tapped him on the shoulder in annoyance.

Antonio pulled back his thoughts and asked,

"What's wrong?"

"Ahhh… It is the old man again. I told him that I did not want to come back. He begged me to come back and promised to give me freedom. He told me that I could play however I liked… now look at that, it has not even been two days yet, and I was told to take over the Quins."

He said with a long face, believing that only Antonio could help him with this.

To be honest, he should have already taken over the company at this age. However, he had no interest in the CEO’s position and even avoided this job that many others pursued after. Antonio though, had no intention to help him at all no matter how touching Jerry was framing his words. Thinking of that he had not checked other departments in a long time, Antonio stood up and walked out.
