Chapter 33 As the 'cherished lover' in reality, Crystal could not accept the reverse ending of the script. Therefore, shebrought up this matter with Trevor carlier because she hoped that he would find the ending in poor taste and request for Emma to change the script as an investor.

How could she have known that Trevor would agree with this ending instead? Moreover, he didn’t seem to find anything wrong with the situation.

She wanted to convince him again.

“Trevor-”

However, Trevor immediately cut her off sternly.

"Crystal, I am producing a drama series, not playing around or making jokes.” The implication behind his words was that he was very satisfied with the currentplot and she should stop interfering, His words made her eyes turn red with anger.

After all, he was indirectly saying that she was being immature and treating his work as a child’s play.

Of course, I know he is producing a drama! When have I ever tried to manage hiswork in all these years? If the screenwriter of this drama was anybody else but Emma, she would not have felt so peeved, much less interfere in his work.

Unfortunately, she could only suppress all her grievances, no matter how aggrieved she felt at that moment.

That was because she had always pretended to be ignorant about Emma’s return or Emma’s role as the screenwriter of this drama.

She had been trying her best to maintain her gentle and generous persona in front of him.

She sneered in her heart.

It doesn't matter even if Trevor refuses to change the script.

I can just get somebody else to interfere in this matter.

Investors might be important, but so was the director.

If the director was unhappy with the script, then the project would not be able to proceed any further.

Fortunately, she forged many personal connections and her own way of doing things in all the years that she spent inthe entertainment circle.

I'm going to see just what a rookie screenwriter like Emma can do to compete against a popular celebrity with many followers like me.

In the worst case, I still have Arianna.

Trevor would always give Arianna a role in all the dramas that he invested in.

As long as Arianna joined the cast of this drama, Emma would have no means to deal with the trouble that would surely arise during the filming.

Thanks to this little argument, Trevor's expression was very dour throughout the house.

Therefore, Crystal returned home in a rage that left her gritting her teeth.

He was not displeased because she had tried to interfere in his work.

Rather, it was because he had seen through her intentions.

It was obvious that she knew about Emina's return and Emma’s role as the screenwriter of this drama.

Why else would she abruptly ask to attend the meeting with him? Despite clearly targeting Emma,she was pretending to be innocent in front of him.

Her actions annoyed him.

He did not understand why she had changed so much.

After all, the Crystal he knew had been a generous, calm, mature, and sensible person.

Upon returning to the office, Trevor finally took out Emma's phone number that Wesley had given to him earlier.

He pondered in silence for a moment before he dialed the number.

The call quickly connected, and a cold female voice entered his cars.

"Hello, who is this?" Who is this? Emma's tone was distant and unfamiliar, causing flames of anger to light upin his heart.

As a result, the words that came out of his mouth were very harsh and provocative.

"Emma, has the sky fallen down? How dare you skip such an important meeting?” There was a brief silence from the other end of thephone.

Then, her self deprecating voice sounded again.

“Mr.

Bateson, the sky did not fall down.

It's just that I was in a traffic accident where the bus overturned.

I apologize for missing such an important meeting.

If you're dissatisfied with my performance, you can directly ask President Zurich to replace me.” After Emma finished speaking, shewent ahead and ended the call.

Meanwhile, Trevor clenched the phone in his hand even though the call had ended.

The only words that remained echoing in his head were ‘The bus overturned: ! The tragic scenes of similar accidents that he saw on TV flashed beforehis eyes.

Thinking back to Emma's calm and light tone just now, and thinking back to his cynicism towardher, he felt an inexplicable throbbing pain in his chest that washed over him in waves.
