"Dad, actually I..."

Pearl was too nervous to explain herself. She will let her father down if she confessed. She never visited him for the past seven years, but she even lied to him after returning back.

"Well, it's normal for couples to quarrel, but you should fix your temper too." Before she could think of something to say, Anthony replied.

Pearl was taken aback, and she looked up in astonishment.

Anthony was indifferent as he persuaded Pearl. He sounded like he had a lot of experience as he continued, "A man in his age will tend to focus on his career. If it's not big issue, then don't waste your time on trivial things."     

"Dad, I..."

"What's the matter?"

"It's nothing. I'll keep that in mind." Pearl forced a smile and corrected herself.

She did not want to tell a lie. Ever since she was a child, she never hid anything from Anthony. Although he cared about his image and always kept a straight face, he was very soft to her. He even agreed when she insisted on studying medicine at Ocpeace Medical University.

While, her father was getting old, and he could not take any shock. She was pregnant seven years ago, and she insisted on giving birth to the child. That incident shocked him a lot, and he almost got a stroke. So she dared not take the risk.  

She could tell that Anthony still blamed her for her premarital pregnancy. Yet, there was no point crying over spilt milk, and her two children were alive and kicking. Hence her father hoped that she could lead a good life.   

Anthony was a traditional man. He wanted her to marry a good husband who could treat her well and take care of her.

After the meal, Pearl said goodbye to Anthony at the entrance of the restaurant.

 Steve, the Yonng family's butler, was Anthony's driver for the day. Steve stayed with Anthony for many years, and Pearl and Evelina grew up under his watch too.
