My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 14

Read My Past is Just Prologue By Louisa Dillon Chapter 14 – Restarting

At this moment, Nathaniel’s cell phone rang suddenly.

It was a call from Anastasia..

As soon as the call was answered, Anastasia’s panicked cry for help came.

“Nathaniel, I was blocked by papara*zi at the hospital. Where are you? Can you pick me up?”

Accompanied by Anastasia’s voice.

Accompanied by Anastasia’s voice, her assistant’s panicked voice sounded. “Stop crowding. Anastasia is pushed down by you…”

“Anastasia, are you alright… Get up quickly!”

Hearing that Anastasia was pushed down, Nathaniel was nervous.

“Wait for me there. I’ll pick you up right away.”

Nathaniel raised his eyes and looked at Alfred. He pursed his lips and said, “Go to the hospital. Continue to investigate Janet.”

Nathaniel gradually felt that Janet’s identity was not as simple as she said.

Did she come from the slumdog?

After Janet fired Barrett, the manager of the business department, those stocks settled down a lot.

Although many people were still unwilling to submit to her, they dared not confront her head–on.

After all, no one wanted to lose their jobs.

So many people couldn’t join a big company like Longfellow Group. They finally had the opportunity to work here. After so many years of hard work, they finally had a higher position in the company. Therefore, no one wanted to be fired.

Though they were afraid of Janet, few of them obeyed her in private. She was young. Those old and stubborn people treated her as an inexperienced girl.

Why was an inexperienced girl so arrogant and domineering?

They were all old employees of Longfellow Group and had worked hard for Longfellow Group all their lives. But now they were overwhelmed by an inexperienced girl and dared not to resist.

If it weren’t for the fact that her father had succeeded in business, she wouldn’t even have the qualifications to enter Longfellow Group. So how could she exercise her authority in front of them?

None of the old shareholders were convinced. The good news was that the position of general manager of the business. department was still vacant.

These old shareholders wanted to put their man in this position so that it would be convenient to get useful news. It would also be easier to handle things in the future.

But they never thought that although Janet was young, she was one step ahead of them in everything.

Before the person selected by the old shareholders came, they were notified that a new general manager would arrive today.

At the same time, they also received news that the new general manager of the business department was none other than someone sent by Janet’s uncle.

The person who came was Geordie Harper, the old subordinate of Janet’s father, Kerwin Longfellow.

Everyone knew that Geordie was Kerwin’s confidant before he was alive. They also clearly remembered that Barrett was fired by Janet not long ago. Therefore, no one dared to go against her. They had to bear it and play it by ear.

After Kerwin passed away, the company was controlled by Conrad. He cleared out many old subordinates of Kerwin, including

Geordie.

Back then when Conrad pushed Geordie out of Longfellow Group, it was Milton Smedley who took Geordie in, gave him a job to support his family and helped him overcome the crisis in his life.

Geordie had always thanked Milton for his kindness in giving him help in times of need.

So when Milton sent him to Longfellow Group to be the general manager of the business department, he readily agreed.

Seeing Geordie, Janet was slightly taken aback. Geordie was an old head of the company. He was a very capable old man who built this company with her father.

Janet still remembered that when she was young, Geordie often visited her home.

Geordie came to discuss work with her dad. But every time he came, he would play with her for half an hour and often brought her favorite dolls..

Meeting Janet’s eyes, Geordie frowned slightly. His eyes were filled with excitement and shock.

He was Kerwin’s subordinate and was loyal to Kerwin. Now that Kerwin’s daughter had returned, the Longfellow Group had finally returned to the Longfellow family and met the light.

He was happy for Janet.

“Mr. Longfellow’s daughter, how you’ve grown!!”

The little girl in the past had grown into a big girl.

Looking at the graceful Janet, Geordie helped his glasses legs. His sharp eyes suddenly narrowed.

“You were only so little when your father and I were fighting for the career. In a blink of an eye, you are the heir of Longfellow Group and have the power to take charge of Longfellow Group.”

“Geordie, I am sorry that you’ve suffered a lot these years. You are the old head who fought for the career with my father. You shouldn’t be treated unfairly like this.”

Geordie, who used to hold her to ride a big horse, now had a little gray hair on his temples. Janet’s eyes were red when recalling the past, but she held back her tears.

Her firm eyes locked on him. Once, she suppressed herself and gave up her splendid life for Nathaniel!

Now, she was bound to restart her wonderful life!

“Now that I’m back, I will never let Longfellow Group be taken over others again. Geordie, will you help me?”

Looking at Janet, Geordie’s sharp eyes narrowed. Kerwin treated him well like a brother.

All these years, he had been sorry for Longfellow Group’s matters. Now that Janet was back, he would do his best to help her even if he died.

“Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, I will protect you and help you get back everything that Conrad has taken away from the company these years.”
