My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 24

Read My Past is Just Prologue By Louisa Dillon Chapter 24 – A familiar and cool handsome face appeared in her mind suddenly. Janet sneered with red lips, saying, “I know Nathaniel. He

never likes me. Anastasia is his sweetheart.”

Though she said it, her words were like thorns deeply piercing her heart, it hurt severely.

Nathaniel had waited for Anastasia for so many years. It could be seen that she had an important status in his heart.

“However, what you did was awesome. The famous Nathaniel was humiliated by you. What’s more, he was slapped by you. Well done.” Whenever Ernest thought of the funny scene of Janet slapping Nathaniel just now, he was excited.

Maybe Nathaniel hurt her too much, or maybe being drunk, she dismissed those messy thoughts. Her indifferent expression was filled with drunkenness. Her eyes were half–closed. Ernest smelled the faint fragrance of her hair.

Sitting on the other side of Janet, Orville looked at the woman who was so beautiful. Even the corners of her eyes and brows were pretty. His beautiful eyebrows and eyes raised charmingly as he said, “Nathaniel is not lucky. How could he refuse such a beautiful wife, I want her.”

He approached Janet, raised his hand and gently touched the long hair that blocked her face. “S*xy babe…”

Unexpected…

Before he finished speaking, Janet fell asleep leaning against the back of the chair.

As soon as he was about to touch her face, Orville’s slender fingers, full of affection and devoted to Janet, curled up and stopped in the air.

Ernest was watching the scene in front of him, and he was even more nervous than Orville. He had always known that Orville liked Janet, and Orville kept his deep affection for her in his heart until she married Nathaniel.

“Bro, don’t hesitate if you like her. Don’t be like last time, letting someone else get her.”

She was divorced, and she had the right to pursue her own happiness.

After all, it was natural for men to desire beautiful women.

In his opinion, a gentleman like Orville was a thousand times better than Nathaniel.

“You should take advantage of your favorable position now. Jill is a nice girl, and she deserves the best.”

Hearing that, Orville remained silent, looking at the sleeping girl with beautiful eyes, and his brown pupils locked on her body, full of pity.

The woman tilted her body and leaned against him. Her charming little face was blushing, her cherry lips were pursed into a straight line, and her long curled eyelashes trembled like two small fans from time to time.

Beautiful was such a weak word to describe her.

No man could escape the temptation of beauty, especially the long–awaited beauty.

Orville looked at the woman who just licked her lips lightly, and her smiling eyes narrowed like crescent moons. Then, the car arrived at her home.

He bent down, carried her light body, and said to Ernest, “I’ll take care of her. You can go back.”

The next day.

The consequence of a hangover was a splitting headache.

As soon as she woke up in the morning, she could feel her brain throbbing, her head hurt like hell, and she was in a daze for a

moment

“You woke up already?”

Seeing she opened her eyes, Orville poured a glass of water and handed it to her, “Drink some warm water to moisten your

throat.”

After being burned by alcohol all night, she was so thirsty that she gulped down the whole glass of water

She raised her hand to wipe her lips, raised her head, and glanced at the familiar surroundings. Her voice was as h**rse as a broken bell, “Why are you in my house?”

“You don’t remember?”

Orville put the water glass back, looked at the sleepy Janet with his narrow eyes, and helped her remember

“You were so drunk last night that you were unconscious. I carried you back. I was afraid that you would be scared alone at

night, so I stayed with you.”

She pouted, wondering why she would need someone to take care of her all night.

He seemed to be able to speak lips, his eyes were slightly raised, and he said in a melodious voice, “You’re welcome.”

Why did these words sound so ambiguous? She only met him less than ten times in total, but it seemed that he knew her so

well and liked her so much.

Thinking about it, she shook her head violently and put aside her irrelevant thoughts.

The smell of alcohol in her mouth was terrible, and she took a look at herself in a mess. “I’ll go wash up first.”

“Remember what happened last night?”

He turned his slender figure and asked as he looked at her hurrying to the bathroom.

Last night?

What did she do?

Janet’s footsteps suddenly paused, but she didn’t give him a response. She raised her hand to rub her head and walked towards the bathroom with her wrinkled skirt, recalling

Yesterday she seemed to be dancing with Orville, and then she saw Nathaniel at the bar.

Nathaniel Webster!

Her memory ended here, and she went blackout after seeing Nathaniel.

Seeing her thoughtful look, Orville took a sip of coffee, “Do you remember you slapped Nathaniel?”

“How is that possible?”

She was taken aback by his words, and she pointed to the tip of her nose with a face full of disbelief.

“What kind of wild joke is this? Me? Slap him? Stop it!”

She tried her best to calm her buzzing brain, recalling what he said.

Seeing her doubting expression, he was not in a hurry to explain and showed her the security footage he had copied from the bar last night on his phone.

“See for yourself”

In the video, she was wearing a red dress, and Nathaniel pushed her against the wall, saying words that almost made her

angry.

She was enraged, so she raised her hand and slapped him, then walked away chicly and angrily on her high heels.

Looking at Nathaniel’s face was as cold as the frost turning furious after getting slapped on the cheeks, and the veins on his forehead bulged, there was a trace of sarcasm at the corners of her mouth, and she raised her little face, “Oh, look how angry I

made him.”

This must be one of the best moments she had ever lived.

Who was Nathaniel Webster?

A business tycoon who lived in the clouds, with thousands of honors in one person, and the dream lover of many women. No one would dare to slap him in his life.

In the past, she had always been the one who was sympathetic to him and flattered him, but now it was finally her turn to act

up.
How ironic!

She didn’t know if Nathaniel felt pain or not, but she was quite happy anyway.

Seeing his face as cold as an iceberg, she couldn’t help but raise the corners of her mouth, thinking that she had finally climbed out of his cage. In this way, she would never want to go back to before. She wanted to be her own Janet Longfellow.

At this time, the door was pushed open from the outside, and a b*tchy face walked in from the outside.

“Morning!”

Ernest brought her favorite bread and her favorite fresh milk.

“Here.” He handed the breakfast to Orville, and he rushed over to Janet.

Delivering breakfast was not the main purpose of his visit.

“Go with me to an auction next Friday.”

“No.” The company was in dire straits, so she wouldn’t be in the mood to participate in any auction unless she was crazy.

Ernest’s eyes flashed, and he raised his eyebrows. “You’ll regret it if you don’t go.”

He put his arms on her shoulder and said in a seductive tone.

“Do you still remember your father’s favorite antique glazed ceramics bowl, which was sold by your uncle three years ago? I heard that people who bought your father’s collection would also come to bid for this auction. Don’t you want to redeem your father’s favorite collection?”
