Marry into Money by Accident novel Chapter 37

Chapter 37

The woman had a sense of humor.

Sam smiled “There’s no rush. Take your time.”

Lianne read the document while Sam stared at her.

The woman was unexpectedly good-looking. She had a heart-shaped face, milky-smooth skin, and a pair of lovely petal-like lips. She was perfect no matter where Sam looked.

Sam sighed to himself. Zane did not quite get it when it came to relationships. He married a gorgeous wife, only to leave for overseas and dump her to be on her own.

If Sam married a wife of such qualities, he would lock her up in a castle and throw away the keys or keep her by his side so no man could come in between them.

Zane pushed his wife into loneliness, giving another man a free pass to his woman.

Lianne’s good looks gave her the privilege of reading the document with ease. Instead of rushing her, Sam leisurely admired her expressions and poise.

Lianne went through the pages of the A4-size document. The mention of them never living together, leading to the non-application of common law property, was to be expected.

Her money was hard earned on her own, so she never felt entitled to his property either.

Nevertheless, Lianne was amused when she read the clause about the hundred-thousand-dollar compensation for emotional damages to the man.

Their grandmothers arranged their marriage, and during their a-year-and-a-half-long marriage, the pair had not met, much less had an argument. It should be a peaceful and amicable divorce, but the man was demanding a lot.

Lianne slid the divorce papers across the table with a smile. “Mr. Lambert, what is the compensation for emotional damages about?”

“You should know what you did, Ms. Simpson.” Sam looked at Lianne, believing the woman to be an experienced player. Despite him pointing out her affair, she managed to keep a straight face.

Lianne asked, “What did I do?”

“Ms. Simpson, I think you know what I’m talking about. I won’t be nice if you continue to play dumb. Your only choice is to sign the papers.” Sam slid the paperwork toward Lianne.

His firm tone may have intimidated Lianne in the past.

However, having been working alongside Zane for six months, Lianne no longer feared Zane, let alone other people.

With a smile, Lianne handled herself with composure. “I’m not putting my name down. What are you going to do about it?”

Lianne came off strong without so much as making a scowl. Sam relented in his attitude. “Ms. Simpson, we can work out the details so long as you sign the papers.”

Chapter 3

Wiping the smile off her face, Lianne spoke in a chilling tone, “Do I look silly to you? Tell Caleb we can set a time to finalize our divorce if that’s what he wants. We don’t need to go back and forth with some sort of agreement. He can forget scamming my money.”

Sam had met all kinds of people in his field. He had a feeling that Lianne was not one to be

messed with as she gave him a look. For some reason, she reminded him of Zane when the latter was mad. Sam shuddered. “Give me two minutes.”

He found a quiet spot to give Zane a call.

Zane just got out of the shower. “Is there a problem?”

Sam commented, “Your wife is beautiful, Zane.”

The woman’s beauty did not change the fact that she cheated on Zane. There was no way he was going through with the marriage.

Zane frowned. “The clocking is ticking, Sam. You have half an hour left.”

Sam told the truth, “Your wife doesn’t seem keen on signing the divorce papers.”
