Loveless Marriage novel Chapter 173

"Christian, have some as well." She deliberately nudged Lexie arm, "Don't just eat by yourself. Help Christian get some of his favourite dishes."

"No need, I have already had dinner. I'll just drink some wine with Mr. Perez." Christian didn't even bother using his fork. He just poured himself another half glass of wine.

"Already had... " Lexie was startled.

Mallory also looked over curiously, slightly narrowing her eyes, "You have had dinner? Why so early tonight? "

He should be just getting off work when she called him. Why had he already had dinner yet?"

Or?

"Yes, I had dinner with a friend." Christian didn't say much about it. He then clinked his glass at Lexie's cousins who had raised their glasses to toast him. His expression was very indifferent.

"What kind of friend? Introduce to us someday, Mr. Miller." These brothers replied with a smile.

Although they had some assets, they were still far from being rich as people like Christian. It was impossible for them to get into that kind of social elite circle. If any of their family member got married to the Christian, then they would be able to know many real rich and educated people in the future.

Lexie looked at her two cousins in disgust, but didn't say a word. She turned her eyes and looked at Christian, thinking that she would refuse them unwittingly, but she hadn't expected that he would say yes to their request.

"Sure, I have a friend who really likes to make friends. He is doing real estate and almost good at everything. It's just that he likes to go to nightclub. I can introduce him to you guys later."

Lexie was startled, her face darkened. Christian's words was more humiliating than a direct rejection.

The friend that he spoke of was clearly Adrian. That guy was a classic example of an old clansman. He usually spent hundreds of thousands dollars at a time, and had all kinds of people in his friend circle.

Unbeknownst to them, the two cousins immediately stood up, overjoyed, to pour him a full glass of wine. "Haha...you are too magnanimous. I think our Lexie doesn't need to look for a boyfriend. Why don't you two have a try?"

Everyone suddenly went silent.

The atmosphere was pushed to the climax of the dinner.

Everyone had different thoughts and expressions. And the most nervous one was of course Lexie, who stared unblinkingly at the Christian's expression.

Mallory coughed and laughed, "I also think so. I like Lexie very much, Christian. You can tell us your opinion about it."

Carl took the opportunity to say, "That's right, Christian. You and Lexie have known each other for more than ten years. It's better to have someone close to you as your girlfriend."

Christian placed the glass on the table slowly. He looked around at the crowd, then calmly said with a smile, "Mr. Perez, if you really care about your daughter, why would you be willing to let her marry a divorced man? In other words, with her outstanding young and beautiful looks, she could find a man way better than me. If she was my sister, I would definitely break that man's legs. "

Hearing this, Everyone was shocked.

Lexie's parents were so angry that they almost couldn't control themselves. They glared at him, unable to speak.

Lexie could no longer endure it. Biting her lower lip, she said loudly: "I don't care about that, Christian. as long as you are willing, we can immediately get married."

Christian indifferently listened to her passionate confession, then asked: "You're not going to ask about your parents' opinions?"

"They respect my choice. You don't need to worry about them." She anxiously said.

Lexie's cousins wanted to say something, but stopped at the second thought.
