Chloe fell silent, biting her lip. “I understand, Mister Gills.”
“Chloe, you’ve got to know that there’s more to this job than just reporting. Connections are important to remain in this line of work, got it?” Telford said.
Chloe took a deep breath. “Got it, Mister Gills.”

Chloe returned to her desk, her expression one of misery.
She understood Telford’s intentions, but reporting with a blas did not align with her work ethic at all.
A while later, she let out a sigh and decided to do the interview first.
She slung a camera around her neck and hurried off to the hospital
Just then, Telford leaned back in his chair, sipping his tea leisurely.

He had set his sights on Chloe for a while now.
Gosh, it was good to be young. She was not only pretty, but brimming with energy, unlike Telford, old and dull all the time.
The thought of being able to have his fun with a woman like this… He would feel so much younger.
Getting Chloe would happen sooner or later. As long as she remained working in the Television Broadcast station, she would be in the palm of his hand.
Telford began to hum at the thought.
Chloe rushed to the hospital with her camera and found Sherry.

She was the only patient left in her ward then. Chloe told her why she was there, and Sherry was more than happy t cooperate, su the Interview commenced at once.
The entire process was about as anyone would expect. Sherry was insistent that the other car was in the wrong, causing her to get into an accident. The pa**enger in the backseat of the car that had hit Sherry had even taken advantage of her after the accident, only fleeing when he found our the police were on their way.
After the incident was exposed, Cape International sent their people over to threaten Sherry, as well as paying various media platforms to censor keywords and phrases related to the incident. Sherry was almost certain that the perpetrator was one of Cape’s higher-ups, trying to cover the incident by abusing the company’s power.
Sherry even said that the traffic police had just been here. They had blamed her without even getting to the bottom of the truth, clearly stding with Cape International fue in bribery.
Chloe frowned upon hearing this. “Is there anything else?”
“Nope. That’s about it. I’in honestly so scared right now,” Sherry sail.
Chlor said, “Don’t you worry. The law will make sure you’re protected as long as you did nothing wrong”
Sherry nodded weakly.
Chloe ended the interview as well, returning to the television broadcast station

She sat down at her desk, thinking long and hard. At last, she knocked on Telford’s office door before going inside.
“Mister Gills, I’ve just finished the interview with Sherry Divas. I feel like I should interview Cape International too to hear their side of the story. After all, all I have right now is just Sherry’s word, and the traffic police even insisted that it was all her fault. I’m certain there’s more to the story.”
Telford replied in a low tone, “Don’t worry about that. Get to making that TV report right now and let me look through it. Remember, your career is at risk here. Don’t derail it for nothing’
Chloe let out a small sigh. “Got it, Mister Gills”
She turned to leave, returning to her office and beginning to edit the interview footage.
Still, her mind was a mess.
Judging from Telford’s words alone, Chloe was certain there was more to the story.
On top of that, the interview footage showed Sherry’s eyes darting around nervously every time she was asked something important, and she hardly made eye contact with Chloe the entire time. It was clear that she might be lying.
With Telford not allowing Chloe to interview Cape to cross-check both sides of the story, this only appeared even more suspicious.
The problem was that Chloe was just an intern, and Telford was the station director. What could she even do?
Chlor worked away, her chest riddled with discomfort.
She spent the rest of the day editing the footage and barely finished half the report by the time she was supposed to get off.
