I got married without you (James and Amelia) novel Chapter 22

She slowly raised her hand and wiped away the red wine on her face, before replying faintly, “…Yes.”
Kevin bent down slightly and studied her carefully. “How do you know each other?”
Amelia knew what he suspected, and calmly said, “I know I look like Ms. Moore, so one night while delivering files to Mr. Evans, I added something to his drink, hoping to seduce him and make him sleep with me. But he wasn’t affected, and he kicked me out. right after. Maybe that’s why he called me dir ty and cheap.”
Her words dispelled half of Kevin’s doubts.
He initially thought there was some kind of sexual, or even romantic, connection between James and Amelia.
After all, if a man and woman got involved with each other, something like that was bound to happen.
But he didn’t expect Amelia to be a social climber who had her eyes set on James to earn his love, only for her plan to backfire and earn his disdain instead.
However, he was also confused about her intentions, and why she would target James.
Didn’t she have zero interest in money?
Amelia saw the doubt swirling in Kevin’s eyes and added, “I’ve always wanted him.”
There was a dim light in her eyes, glimmering with something like love, which made Kevin somewhat believe her.
“So that’s how it is, huh?”
His mind put to case for the time being, Kevin pulled Amelia up and made her sit on his lap.
He wiped the red wine from her face and neck with cold fingers while groping her soft body.
“Baby… I didn’t expect you to be so bold as to try and bait James into sleeping with you.”.
Unfortunately, James was not romantic at all. If it were Kevin, he would have taken the bait.
Amelia’s whole body was stiff. She didn’t dare to move, afraid of getting him aroused.
She suppressed her disgust and kept calm. “Mr. Harris, when I fall in love with you one day, I’ll be bold enough for you too.”
Kevin leaned against her back, still soaked in red wine. He kissed her and said, “I can’t wait that long.”
After saying that, he lifted Amelia’s dress and was about to unzip his pants, ready to violate her.
All the color drained from her face. She struggled with all her might. But all that did was turn Kevin on even more. He held her in his arms and kissed her passionately.
“Mr. Harris!”
Trapped in his arms, Amelia could do nothing but hopelessly press her hands against his chest.
She frantically looked around for her bag, on the opposite sofa. It was too far out of reach.
Her palms were covered in a cold sweat, anxiety spreading through her body, but she had to force herself to calm down.
“Mr. Harris, you want the project from Mr. Evans, r-right? I can get it for you i-if you let me go!”
Kevin was fiddling with her pants. When he heard her mention the project, his fingers paused. “You can help me get it?”
It seemed impossible to Kevin. If she had offended James by trying to trick him into sleeping with her, how could she still get the project?
I
“My plan to seduce Mr. Evans may have failed, but there was a moment when he mistook me for Ms. Moore, and he kissed me. recorded a video. If I use it to blackmail him and help you secure the project, he’ll comply. Without question.”
