Chapter 26 Injured on the treadmill 

The next morning, Evelyn woke up around 5 o’clock, but She stayed in bed until six o’clock. Iuston got up and went to the family gym on the third floor to exercise. After thinking for a while, she followed her. 

The largest room on the third floor had been changed to a gym, with a treadmill, bike, heavy machinery, and all kinds of equipment. Meanwhile, Huston was running regularly on the treadmill. He was wearing a light gray sleeveless tight-fitting vest and a pair of knee-length black sweatpants. His bangs were not as neat as usual, but were scattered on his forehead. Crystal-clear sweat rolled down his neck to his collar, leaving behind a dark water stain. 

An indescribable image flashed through Evelyn’s mind. Sweat had dripped from his chin onto her body last night…

She blushed and looked away. Seeing that he ignored her, she walked to a treadmill next to him. 

She stood directly on the track and turned on the switch. She thought that it would rotate slowly like an ordinary treadmill in the gym, but she didn’t expect it to be so fast. She didn’t have time to step forward and couldn’t keep up with the speed. She was directly knocked on the speed belt and teleported to the ground… 

She felt a dull pain in her knees, followed by a splitting pain. She knelt on the ground, hugged her knees, and tears welled up in her eyes. 

After turning off the treadmill, he carried her in his arms without saying a word and walked to the bedroom with imperceptible anxiety. 

He placed her on the bed, took the first-aid kit, and removed her pants. Her right knee was swollen but not bruised, and the left knee had a cut. The wound was not deep, but it covered a large area. Bright red blood flowed down her calf. 

He frowned and took out a bottle of disinfectant to disinfect it. “Hold on.” 

Just as she was about to nod, her knees suddenly felt cold, and then liquid seeped into the wound. It hurt so much that she almost bit her lower lip. “Ouch!” 

It took her a lot of effort to endure the sharp pain. When she saw that Huston was about to wash her wound a second time, she refused. “I don’t want to wash it again. It hurts…” 

He held her down. “The wound needs to be disinfected. It must be washed clean.” 

After that, he put her leg on his thigh to prevent her from shrinking back. 

He poured the disinfectant water on the wound and carefully wiped it clean with a cotton swab. She was in so much pain that she couldn’t utter a single word. It was too painful.

Immediately after, he took out the medicine prescribed by Dominic. Usually, he would prepare it in case of special situations. He did not expect it to come in handy now. After carefully applying the ointment to the wound, he let go of her leg. 

The face of the woman on the bed was extremely pale. Huston seemed to be helpless as he sighed. “How can you fall so miserably with a treadmill? Evelyn, what do you want me to say?” 

She felt wronged. “I didn’t know that your treadmill would adjust so fast…” 

Knowing that she was in pain, he did not continue to argue with her. He glanced at her leg injury and said, “I’ll cancel today’s interview for you.”
