Finding Love in the Boss’s Embrace After Divorce novel Chapter 20

Chapter 20 A Different Protection

Forty minutes later, the taxi came to a halt at the gate of the Royal Villa.

The on-duty security guard instructed Evelyn to board a small shuttle that served the villa.

Coming at the door, Evelyn took out the key Huston had given her earlier.

The lights in the living room were already on, and Huston was seated on the sofa, engrossed in reading the day’s financial news.

Upon hearing the door open, he turned around, “Not bad. Right on time.”

Feeling a sense of relief, Evelyn exhaled softly, lowered her head, and began to take off her shoes.

As she leaned forward to put her shoes away, a body suddenly blocked her from behind. A warm hand encircled her waist, pulling her back against the man’s firm thigh.

Startled, Evelyn hastily straightened up. She attempted to turn around, but Huston pressed her against the shoe cabinet, causing her to grip its edge with both hands.

Tilting her head slightly, Evelyn muttered, “Huston…”

“Yeah?” His hand slid beneath her skirt, eliciting a gasp from her.

about Huston today.

“Bad mood.” He had been involved in a case where one of the plaintiffs had committed suicide at home. The situation resonated with his own childhood experiences, and it was only natural for him to feel a surge of emotions.

Further words were futile at this moment. The best course of action was to engage in pleasurable intimacy.

Huston only wanted to follow his body’s instinct, shutting out any thoughts.

But the forceful invasion reminded Evelyn of Jerry, especially when she couldn’t see Huston’s face with her back turned to

him. Fear consumed her.

Struggling to voice her feelings, she managed to say with difficulty, “I don’t want to have sex today. I really don’t…”

Huston had never taken her feelings into consideration. If he wanted to have sex, he would ensure his success.

Yet today, he couldn’t proceed any further as the woman began

to tremble.

Huston paused, gripping Evelyn’s shoulders and turned her around.

Under the dim light, the woman’s face appeared deathly pale, tears welling up in her eyes.

His gaze followed the path of her tears and focused on something that made him freeze.

There was a dark red scab on the corner of her pale lips.

He distinctly remembered that it wasn’t there when she had left the house earlier.

Huston abruptly leaned in, sniffing at Evelyn’s collar. His anger surged even stronger. “You didn’t go to your mother’s.”

Her heart skipped a beat. Before she could formulate an explanation, his fingertips pressed down on her scab.

Huston rubbed and exerted enough pressure to cause pain. Blood trickled from the scab, staining the corner of her mouth.

Suppressing her pain, Evelyn moaned but dared not utter another sound. The man before her appeared gloomy and terrifying, as if a tempestuous storm loomed.

She lied.

Huston stared at her blood stained lips, applying heavy pressure. “Explain.”

His sudden change stunned her, leaving her speechless, as if someone was choking her throat.

“I’m… I’m sorry.” Evelyn managed to utter an apology.

A sinister smile graced Huston’s face. “So you lied to me, huh?”

Evelyn opened her mouth, but no sound came out.

“I hate being lied to.” Huston’s cold gaze fixated on her, his eyes gleaming like frigid knives. He raised his hand, touching her

the delicate skin beneath his fingertips tempting him to mar il. “Tell me, how should I punish you?”

With that, he denied her a chance to catch her breath. Tugging at her long hair, he forced her to raise her head and bit her neck like a wild beast, leaving mottled marks in his wake.

In her attempt to fend him off, Evelyn inadvertently knocked her arms against the bag on the shoe cabinet.

The bag crashed to the ground, scattering its contents across the floor.

This sight momentarily halted Huston, as his gaze fell upon the words on a document: Divorce Agreement.
