“Mrs. Miller, I forgot to ask you a question,” Taylor said. 

Mikayla wondered what he wanted to ask her.

Taylor wanted to say something else, but Jerome rolled up the window to stop them from talking. 

“When did you become so acquainted with him?” Jerome impatientry asked when Mikayla turned her attention back to the front. 

Mikayla casually tossed her long hair back. “We’re not close yet. 

But they might get closer in the future. 

Taylor’s expedition into investment banking is promising. It was a lucrative opportunity. However, joining Taylor would mean acting in opposition to Jerome. 

She resented Jerome for his cold treatment and for sending her to the mental hospital in her previous life. But she acknowledged that Jerome never had any emotional 

attachment to her. She was the one who insisted on clinging to him. 

Therefore, she hadn’t decided whether to go against him. 

Hearing Mikayla’s words, Jerome let out a faint laugh. 

The traffic light soon turned green, and Taylor stepped on the gas, overtaking lemme’s

Mikayla turned to look at him, but he didn’t show any significant expression. His deep. dark eyes were fixed on the road ahead. Mikayla felt a bad feeling creeping in.

Before Mikayla could say another word, Jerome suddenly slammed on the gas. The cat surged forward like an untamed stallion! 

Mikayla didn’t have time to react. A loud bang rang out as Jerome directly collided w 

the rear of Taylor’s car. 

“Squeak!” 

A shrill screech echoed across the road as the tires skid against the surface. Mikayla’s body lurched forward and backward. 

Shaken, she raised her head, only to realize Taylor didn’t stop. He inched a few feet forward. Suddenly, the roar of his engine filled the air, and he rapids, reversed toward 

them! 

Although Jerome reacted quickly and swerved to the side, Taylor, still managed to hit the side of his car. Jerome’s car collided violently with a large tree by the roadside. 

Two muffled thuds sounded, and Mikayla was nearly thrown out of her seat. 

In that instant, the window shattered. Just as she braced for the stinging pain of broken glass, she sensed a sturdy chest above her head. 

Hearing the thumping of Jerome’s heart, Mikayla felt her heart skip a beat. 

In her previous life, she had once secretly rested her head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat while he was drunk. 

It was way calmer back then.

“We’re okay now. Get up.”

The door on her side had been jammed against the tree. She couldn’t open it she hard to go through the driver’s seat to exit.

But she accidentally bumped her head against the door as she got out and almost fell down. Jerome reached out to help her. 

Feeling his warm palm on her waist, Mikayla felt uncomfortable. She shrugged his hand off and walked forward. 

The front of the Maybach was crushed. The windows were shattered, and large dents were visible on the body. Smoke was coming out from the vehicle. 

Several onlookers had gathered, and a few were expressing regret. 

“This car must be totaled. What a shame for such a good car!” 

“That’s right. The one in front got it worse. Even the airbags popped out. Rich people are so reckless.” 

Was Taylor’s car so seriously damaged? 

Mikayla looked in his direction.
