An Eight-year-old Princess novel Chapter 64

Yun Shang changed into her new clothes and stepped out. Qin Yi stared at the Princess for a long while before speaking. "Your Highness looks quite elegant in this dress. The begonia flowers on it are beautiful."

Yun Shang smiled, "Come on. I don't feel like myself when wearing such a colorful dress. But its style is not bad. Qian Yin, ask them to use pear flowers instead. And change the dress to the color of pear flowers too. When it's done, send the dress to the Xiping Princess Palace. Tell them it's made for the guest there."

Qian Shui nodded, "Is there anything else that you need?"

Yun Shang shook her head, "No. That's all." Then she turned around and walked out of the shop. Qin Yi paid for the dress and quickly followed the Princess.

The three women wandered around casually. Before long, Yun Shang felt hungry. She looked up at the sky and found that it was already noon. It was time to find a place to eat. She took a turn and found herself walking into a back alley. She wasn't worried. Instead, she instructed her maids. "When we walk out of this alley, let's find a place to eat. I'm feeling hungry now."

Qin Yi and Qian Yin agreed; they were famished as well. Before Yun Shang could say more, the sound of several hurried footsteps came from behind her. Yun Shang stopped. The footsteps sounded closer.

"Your Highness, someone is following us." Qin Yi said with worry. As she was speaking, a dozen men in black stepped out of the shadows and surrounded them.

"What do you mean by this? Have I offended you?" Yun Shang frowned and blamed herself. She knew that staying in Hua Jing's Palace would be safe but stepping away from the Palace might be dangerous. And yet, she had left unprepared. If she called her people now, it's highly likely that she would undermine all her planning. She gauged that the threat posed by the men was not worth it.

A large man came forward. He seemed to be their leader. He looked at Yun Shang and said, "Your Highness, someone paid us to kill you. We are just following orders."

"Oh?" Yun Shang frowned, "Is that so? I wonder how much my life is worth. You came here for money anyway. Why not make a deal with me? There're only three weak girls on our side, so there's no chance for us to run away. If I am really going to die. I should know who is trying to kill me. Tell me, who wants me dead? I'll pay you the same amount of money as your employer paid you." Yun Shang turned around and reached out her hand towards Qian Yin. Qian Yin handed a few cheques to her. Yun Shang turned to the large man and extended her hand. "I'm going to die anyway, so this money will be useless to me. Take it."

The man in black took the cheques and said coldly, "I never thought a dying woman would talk so much. Who wants you dead? You're asking me? I don't know. I just know it's a man of medium height with a mole at the end of his eyebrow. That's all. You will die now. Look at you, just three weak women. We'll make it quick."

Hearing him, Yun Shang smiled. Her smile was like the epiphyllum that blossoms at night. Her smile was so breathtaking that the men hesitated. The leader spoke, "Such a beautiful being. It's a pity that we have to kill her. But we've taken the money, so we'll have to do this. Kill them..."

Suddenly Yun Shang's smile turned into a sneer. She clenched her hand inside her sleeves. In the next instant, several silver lights shot out of her sleeve and headed straight towards the assailants. The men screamed. Qin Yi was stunned. Before she could properly process what happened, a pink figure flashed by her. She saw Qian Yin who had been standing beside her rush forward and grab the knife from the closest attacker. Before Qin Yi could scream, several men were lying on the ground motionless.
