Alvera,the Revenger,Married the Billionaire novel Chapter 42

Roland turned and stared at Alvera as she left, his eyes narrowed in thought.

Andrina leaned onto him and buried her head in his chest, her arms wrapped around his waist, and cried softly.

"It's all my fault. I should have stopped you from sending her to prison four years ago," she sobbed. "Those four years in prison changed her. It's all my fault."

Roland frowned. Had she really changed because of the four years in prison?

If that was the case, then he was the main reason why she had changed.

"Roland, I'm so sorry for her. Every time I look her in the eyes, I see her hatred for the world. I think I ruined her life."

Her life...

Roland's breathing became heavier as she spoke.

She had told him before that she hated him and she wanted to kill him.

Andrina sobbed piteously in his arms, but she was smiling under her tears.

She had to remind Roland how Alvera Earhart ended up like this.

They were enemies, and enemies never have happy endings together.

At lunch, Roland sat with the Earhart family at the main table, while Alvera was assigned at the friends and family table beside them.

...

Alvera did not know anybody there, but no one paid attention to a nanny's daughter like her anyway.

...

In fact, most people thought that the Earhart family were very nice to allow a nanny's daughter to sit at the relative table.

...

Some also thought that she was being arrogant.

Alvera focused on her food, not caring how other people thought of her.

During lunch, many people got up and went over to the main table to wish Luna a happy birthday while trying to befriend Roland at the same time.

Some the relatives even urged Roland to get married with Andrina.

Alvera snorted disdainfully at these stunts.

...

She stood up and walked over to Luna. "Aunt Luna, happy birthday."

...

Luna's expression was chilly. "Thank you very much. You are considerate."

"I found something for you just now when I went to the backyard," Alvera said, pulling out an unfinished tapestry from her bag.

...

The tapestry depicted Luna's likeness.

Out of superstition, she did not dispose of it even though she didn't like it.

"My mother made this for you as a birthday present four years ago. Unfortunately, she didn't manage to live until your birthday," Alvera said, smiling. "Now, I give this to you on behalf of my mother."

...

Everyone in the Earhart family looked uncomfortable when she mentioned Shirley Miller.

Alvera smiled at them. "I'm done eating, so I'll head out on a walk. Enjoy your food!"

She left the hall.

Roland put down his cutlery and prepared to leave with her, but Thomas stopped him. "Roland, wait, let me give you a toast. Thank you for coming today."

Roland glanced quickly at the door, picked up his glass, and returned the toast.

After the luncheon, everyone came to the courtyard to continue mingling.

Alvera was sitting alone by the pool when Luna walked towards her, her expression chilly.

Alvera smiled at her. "I see you have something to say."

"You b*tch."

She got up and faced her. "Aunt Luna, it's your birthday today. Why do you talk about yourself like this?"

"You're as cheap as your mother. No, you're even cheaper than your mother. She tried and failed to seduce Thomas, so I threw her out, but now you're back. Listen carefully, Roland will divorce you and marry Andrina."

"I know he will, but by that time, you can have him if you want," Alvera replied calmly. "Your daughter deserves a secondhand man."

Luna was furious, but she could not do anything to her with so many people around. She glared at Alvera. "Don't be so smug."

...

Alvera looked at Roland, who was talking to some other guests not too far away.

Andrina stuck to his side like an annoying piece of chewed up gum.

She looked back at Luna. "So what if I'm smug? I'm Roland's lawful wife now, so I can tell the world that your daughter is just a mistress if I want to."

"How dare you..."

Alvera smiled. "Are you challenging me?"

She raised her eyebrows and added, "I don't like being underestimated. I should prove myself."

She turned around and walked to the edge swimming pool and clapped loudly. "Everyone, please look over here. I have something to..."

Luna stepped forward hastily to stop her. She grabbed her and tried to pull her away, but as soon as she touched her, Alvera flew backwards and fell straight into the swimming pool.

...

The swimming pool was six and a half feet deep.

Alvera struggled in the water, calling for help.

Luna was completely stunned by the turn of events.

Several people gathered around the swimming pool, but no one went in to save her.

Roland was about to jump in when he was stopped by Andrina, "Roland, don't. Someone else will save Alvera. If you go know, people will be suspicious."
