A Vengeful Girl novel Chapter 160

After Bun had taken some medicine, Linda had to let her rest in the infirmary's bed for a while. Upon returning to the office, Linda thought about calling Brian. She figured that could help Brian, whom she believed Bun wanted to see most at the moment.

But it occurred to Linda that she didn't have Brian's phone number. He never seemed to carry a mobile phone with him. Every time he called, he was looking for Bun. On the other hand, Bun never called Brian because he would always call from an unknown number.

Perhaps it was also because of Brian's identity. He held an important post in the army, so the phone calls he made were done in secret.

Linda had no choice but to call Charles. She asked him to find Brian and tell him to check in on Bun. Charles could work out a solution. He told Linda not to worry and went to look for Brian.

Knowing that Bun was ill, Charles planned to pick Linda up himself.

Linda thought it was sweet of Charles, who was really good to her. She didn't marry him because of his status, but because she felt loved by him.

When it was time to meet Charles at half past four, Linda went to the school gate and waited for him. Not wanting to attract too much attention, she asked Charles not to enter the school.

After waiting a few minutes at the gate, a black car pulled up in front of her. A man dressed in a black suit and a tie got out from the driver's seat. He walked to Linda and asked, "Are you Miss Xia?"

Linda studied the man skeptically and nodded.

Young Master Mu can't make it, so he asked me to pick you up. he explained.

Seriously?

Charles said he would pick her up personally. Why wouldn't he call her if he couldn't come?

Linda discreetly took out her phone and dialed Charles' number, but the line was busy.

Linda reckoned that Charles was really occupied, so she didn't give it a second thought. Since Charles was the only person she spoke with about him picking her up, the guy must've been sent by Charles.

After all, Bun was ill today.

Linda nodded with a smile. "Very well, thank you."

After getting in the car, Linda didn't find anything wrong at first. As the car drove further, she noticed they were heading in the wrong direction. Although Linda had trouble reading maps, she could tell which way led home.

Something was wrong!

Linda touched her dragon head ring. She was certain the car was heading in the wrong direction. How could she be so careless?

How could she not realize it earlier?

She had such a poor sense of danger...

Where are you taking me?

This isn't the direction to the Mu Clan villa! Without responding, the driver continued to drive as if he hadn't heard Linda.

Linda suddenly started feeling light-headed.

She tried to raise her hand, but she didn't have the strength.

What was going on?

I'm sorry, Miss Xia. Please don't struggle. I won't hurt you.

Linda felt her head was getting more and more muddled, and she could hardly utter a word.

Who are you?

What do you want…

Linda lost consciousness before she could finish. Charles was on his way with Brian.

Their father had grounded him. Even if Brian had the means, he couldn't leave, so Charles went to his house and fetched Brian. Lord Ho let Brian go for Charles.

Charles was late because he had to pick up Brian first.
