I am a Second Female Lead novel Chapter 21

She walked out of the cave, and what she saw makes her dumbfound. She watched the sunrise giving light toward the beautiful lush of the green rainforest. She stood there for a minute appreciating the scenery before started roaming around. The trees were lofty, and the place was enclosed by majestic mountains. She slowly wanders and carefully observed her surroundings.

While heartily admiring the breathtaking scenery, she is nevertheless on high alert. As minutes go by, that she can't perceive any imminent danger. She gradually relaxes and started labeling some trees that she passes by. Her marks were unique no one can see or smell it unless she will spray the odorless mist that will reveal the mark she set.

This is a unique way of Jaclyn's contacting her colleague. The owner of the body applied this kind of method to give a signal to the rest of their elite group. Luckily for Sheri she has the knowledge of the body she's in. basically she knows the use of all those stuff at her traveling bag.

She walked leisurely and roams, observing the plants and fruits. There are countless fruits and plants that she saw. Some she recognizes and some are not. The fruits were huge compared to what she used to see.

She brings out in her inventory a scanner that the owner has and used it to scan the plants and fruits. The scanner gives an indication if the plant or fruit is edible or not. She gathers some plants by its roots and some fruits that are edible. Putting them in her bag pack.

While walking, she's eating some fruits and was amazed by how tasty they were. She only gathers enough.

She makes sure everything she does cannot be traced nor followed. She doesn't know yet what are those beasts are. Even if the story tells her that it's a world of beasts she's in. She didn't physically encounter them only the owner of the body making her very cautious not to give any hint to any animal which looked like a human.

After half a day of strolling, she set a small trap for small animals. She climbed a tree closed to the place where she set the trap and waits if her trap will bait something. After waiting for how many hours and nearly dozing off. She heard a squeal of a wild boar. She instantly jumped from the tree and went promptly toward her trap. She saw an adult wild boar perhaps 3 to 5 years old. Weigh 50 to 70 kilos. To make the shriek stop she swiftly kills it. There and then, she got what she believed to be consumed and for the rest, she buried it and put many scented herbs she found along the way and smear it to remove the blood scent. It was a lot of work but with her condition she easily did it in 30 minutes.

After she had gathered the meat, she put them in her bag and walked back toward the cave. It took her 3 hours of walking. Carrying the meat makes her stop underway. Since it's almost night the temperature of the cave has become colder. She bravely swims at the pool in spite that it was chilling at that night. After freshening up she went inside her tent and put out the meat she had and properly cleans and marinates.

She creates a fire outside and took the meat she marinates and barbecues them. She's happy to have a slice of fresh meat as food. While the meat is cooking, she made a vegetable salad. While doing all the chores she's humming a song. Luckily she learns how to cook in her first mission making her kitchen skill very excellent.

2 km away from where Sheri lives. An argument broke out;

"The Tiger clan has been so arrogant lately, We need to do something about it." one of the leopards shouted fiercely.

"You! don't talk nonsense, don't you know that their population has been increasing for this couple of years. In addition to that, they also have this strange weapon that can kill people in one go." an old man speaks.

"Then what should we do? Allow them to trample us all? We've been in peace with them for how many years but since the arrival of the so-called strange woman everything changes." another man shouted again.

A bulky man stood up.

"I suggest we go and kidnap that woman," he said.

The old man growls. "Do you want our race to get extinct?" he angrily shouts.

Everybody start shouting at each other.

In the middle of the table, a handsome young man is seating he was thinking and being irritated because of the heated arguments of his men. He slams the table making the table shake and almost break.

He growls fiercely, instantly making everyone went rigid. He is undoubtedly their ruler the fiercest of all the Leopard race.

"We can't interfere with their women. They already had proven their ability and their weapon is not that simple." he coldly said.

"Hunter, our food has been decreasing for a couple of months already. Every time we hunt and encounter them, they always demand we will surrender it toward them. Our family can't live like this. Our territory has also started declining. They think they possess the whole land." A robust man speaks.

Hunter was silent. Indeed, the moment the Tiger increases in population many of them become so arrogant. They have been harassing many other races and unexpectedly causing his people to submit to them in which makes him irritated. Their territory had been severely declined, making their prey less.

"In the meantime let's conclude this gathering we must not make any move no matter what. If you go and hunt makes sure to promptly deliver them home or hide this is our sole option. Klans stay behind" Hunter said.

Everyone is dissatisfied with the outcome of the gathering. But they know deep down they can't do anything.

All the men went out except Klans and Hunter.

"How is your injury? Asked Hunter

"It's getting better, if I will ever saw that person, I will make sure to finish him. His good at fighting. I've been tracking him almost a month and can't find him." Klans angrily spoke. He clenches his hand, and the nerve in his hand is popping out remembering that the second in command of their race is injured by a creature whom he doesn't know what species that man came from.

Hunter pats his shoulder. To ease him down.

"Don't work up reserve you're energy, You'll meet him soon right now his, not our priority. Go home take a rest, and we will hunt tomorrow." Hunter said and went out.

Hunter went back to his home and tried to organize the things they needed for tomorrow. As a leader he needs to stand tall but the situation has turn unfavorable for them because of a woman whom they down know what sort of species is she.

On the other side of the mountain, Sheri was eating and suddenly sneeze.

"Damn I hope I don't get cold," Sheri said.

Sheri is thinking wryly about this mission. This mission is extraordinarily difficult. She has been trying adjusting living in the damn forest. For the first time, she has to dig a hole to do her private stuff. Sheri is a pampered lady in the 21st century, but it can't be trace anymore. For the past months, she's trying her best to be sane.

Thinking how hard her mission is she was irritated.

"Ahhhh" shout Sheri. She's frustrated. She curses those two men who murdered her in her old life. How she wishes she could make them suffer. Let them taste what she's going through right now.

After venting her anger and frustration, she calms down and thinks of her family. She has to survive and finish the mission ASAP.

It was a painful and very educational living in the cave and trying to understand the world she is in. Sheri sometimes misses the technology something she can have a pastime. The only pastime she does is making different kind of tools for hunting and trap for animals.
