Goddess’s Design His Fated Mate by Pooja novel Chapter 10

Chapter 10
Willow
Beta Ken’s office
“You don’t really have to do this, Willow,” Beta Ken reluctantly signed and sealed the document before him that I had requested.
“It’s okay, Beta Ken,” I neatly picked up the paper from his desk. “My friend showed up out of the blue and caused a lot of trouble for the pack. He always had a few screws loose. There wouldn’t have been so much chaos if I had informed you in advance of his arrival. So, I’ll take responsibility,” I smiled.
Since Reuben hadn’t disclosed our mate bond, Beta Ken assumed that he was my friend given my disinterest in love and relationships. Since he formed his own conclusions, I just refrained from clarifying the situation for him. That way my secret remained hidden from the pack members.
Beta Ken chuckled, “As always, once you make up your mind, it’s impossible to change it, huh?”
“The pack and its pack members are a priority, Beta Ken,” I replied with a sheepish smile. After a brief exchange, I left Beta Ken’s office and made my way toward my bedroom. It was situated in a quieter part of the packhouse, seldom frequented by others. But as I approached the room, I heard a lot of noise.
“Daddy, you’re too tall!” Lori complained, stretching up on her tiptoes to reach Reuben’s face. I paused by the door, observing everything that was unfolding in the room. She had a first aid box in her hand as she tried to apply medicine to Reuben’s wounds.
Reuben chuckled and scooped Lori up into his arms, “If daddy’s too tall, then he cant have his princess sit on his lap,” he said, settling Lori gently onto his lap and planting a kiss on her soft cheek.
“Daddy, you were so cool when you fought those wolves!” Wyatt’s eyes shone as he watched Reuben. “Please teach me to fight like that. I’ll join you in beating the bad next time!”
“Of course,” Reuben chuckled, ruffling Wyatt’s hair. “Grow tall quickly, and I’ll teach
you.”
guys
“Really? Wyatt’s excitement soared as he climbed on Reuben’s arm. “I will beat all the bad guys with daddy!”
I was taken aback by their conversation. It was unusual to see Wyatt and Lori so at ease

with Reuben. They were usually quite protective and reserved around men who showed interest in me. Yet, with Reuben they seemed entirely comfortable, as though they had grown up around him.
“But mommy says fighting is bad,” Lori puckered her lips, turning to Reuben “Daddy. why did you fight if you knew you’d get hurt?”
Wyatt rolled his eyes. “Isn’t it obvious? Daddy’s chasing mommy.”
Lori thought for a while then nodded with all seriousness. “Yeah, women fall for bad boys, after all.”
My eyes widened listening to my children talk. How did their innocent minds think up such things? More importantly, did they already know Reuben’s true identity? Were they calling him “uncle just to deceive the pack, but were secretly aware that he was their father? Had Reuben disclosed the truth to them at the shifter hotel? The realization hit me hard, Reuben seemed to have intentions toward Wyatt and Lori. a desire to claim them as his own. He was attempting to steal my children!”
I entered the room, quieting everything in an instant. Reuben lifted his gaze, meeting mine along with the children.
“If I recall correctly, I asked you to remain in the living room,” I stated firmly.
Reuben held Wyatt and Lori close, defending himself, “I’m injured and weak. The kids brought me here to rest.”
I couldn’t help but feel a bitter twist in my expression. His claim of being injured didn’t match the truth of the situation, he’d put fifty wolves in the hospital! Some had suffered broken bones from his assault. While Reuben had slyly taken advantage of my innocent children to gain entry into my bedroom.
“Here,” I extended the paper toward him
“What’s this?” He raised an eyebrow, taking the paper from me.
The amount of compensation that you owe,” I replied. His easy intrusion and single- handed confrontation with numerous wolves jeopardized the pack’s safety. As an apology, I requested Beta Ken to double the compensation amount.
Reuben silently reviewed the paper, noting the ten million in coinpensation. He looked at me. “I was hurt too,” he abruptly stated as he rose and approached me.
“I don’t care,” I glared at him.
“Mommy, can you please treat daddy’s wounds?” Lori walked over to me with the first aid box, her blue eyes full of concern. I glanced at Reuben from the corner of my eye.

He was an Alpha and had a very strong constitution. He did not need first aid to heal. his wolf could easily heal those wounds, they wouldn’t even leave scars on his body. Yet, he was sitting there pitifully on the bed, playing at being weak and pitiful in front of the children.
“Lori, how about you and your brother go downstairs?” I squatted in front of both of them and took the first aid kit from her hand. “Beta Ken said that he is going to take you two to the pack’s river to play.”
“Play at the river?” Wyatt’s face instantly lit up.
“Yes,” I smiled with a nod. “Go quickly, or he will leave!” I exclaimed.
They nodded excitedly then raced back to Reuben, “Daddy, we are going to play with Uncle Ken. From here on out, you are on your own in chasing after your mate,” Wyatt stated.
“Don’t worry, daddy will handle it.” Reuben smiled and gave both of them a hug.
Listening to what Wyatt said, I was too stunned to react for a couple of seconds as Wyatt raced out of the room holding Lori’s hand.
As their steps faded away down the stairs, I put away the first aid box and turned to Reuben. “Did you tell them about us being soulmates?” I demanded.
“Do you really think I had to tell them such an obvious thing?,” he raised his brows, moving closer to me, “My children are smart enough to come to that conclusion about the two of us themselves.”
“They are not yours, they are my children, Reuben!” I snapped at him. “I know what you are trying to do. Stop manipulating my kids or trying to get close to them. You cannot steal them from me. I will never allow it!”
“Who said I was trying to steal them?” Reuben wrapped his arms around my waist.
“What do you mean?” I gasped. Could it be he was planning something worse?
“My target is not our children but you. Once I steal you, they will also be mine,” he whispered, his eyes overflowing with possessiveness.
I was stunned for a long time after hearing his plan. For a second, it felt like I had gone back in time eleven years to when Reuben had ambiguously declared his pursuit of me. However, at this point his words only made my blood boil, “Is this the reason you broke into Wade Moon?! Don’t think for a second that I don’t know that it’s you who is stopping me from leaving the country,” I gritted my teeth, breaking free from his hold. “Let me tell you something, Reuben. I will leave this country no matter what. I will get far away from you, to a place that you can never find me. You cannot stop…”

Before I could finish my sentence. Reuben grabbed my arm and pulled me close to his chest. “Don’t even think about escaping. Willow,” he let out a very low and threatening growl, his voice was deep, his eyes as dark as storm clouds. “You will never be able to escape me now, Willow. I am not the same Reuben you left six years ago. You can no longer trick me and escape like you did in the past. I would go so far as to dig a hole to the center of the earth to search for you. So don’t even think about trying to make a run for it. Even if you try to escape, you’ll only end up losing Wyatt and Lori forever.”
I felt a sudden chill make its way down to the marrow of my bones when he mentioned. to me about losing Wyatt and Lori. “What do you mean?”
“The moment you try to escape in any way, I will file for sole Wyatt and Lori’s custody,” his voice was low as his eyes fixed on watching my changing expression.
“Custody?!” My face went pale. “You can’t do that. Reuben!” I screamed, hitting his chest. “Wyatt and Lori are mine. You can not steal them from me!”
“Try me, you know what I can do,” he grabbed my hand and pulled me closer, causing my breath to fan against his hard chest. “You should not have run away from me, Willow. You owe me so much,” he whispered, looking deep into my eyes.
“I don’t owe you a thing!” I growled, pulling away from him. “I owe you nothing!” I pushed him away.
“Nothing?” Grabbing my hand, he pinned me against the nearest wall and pressed the length of his body against mine. “Let me tell you what you owe me,” he slowly spread my legs with his knees.
“What are you doing?” I gasped in horror. “Let me go!!”
“Shhhh…” he hushed, softly weaving his fingers into my hair. “You owe me 2,190 days, Willow,” he leaned in close to my ear as his hot breath kissed my sensitive skin. My wolf suddenly awakened in my mind as I felt a forbidden feeling inside me that I hadn’t experienced for the last six years, “You owe me 72 ruts and countless f ucks,” he whispered.
“Dream on!” I snapped, shoving him away, only to be pinned against the wall under him. again.
“Oh… did I forget to add six babies?” he added.
The room fell into a dead silence as it took a couple of seconds to understand what he meant. Shocked and angry, I wriggled in his hold but failed to break free when confronted with his insane strength. “Let me go!” I demanded, taking short frustrated breaths. His eyes subconsciously went to my rising and falling chest, my slightly exposed cleavage drawing his attention.

“Since you owe me so much…” he trailed off, glancing at my breasts then locking eyes with me. “Get ready to pay me back for every single one. Willow. So, don’t run around and make me return again.” he whispered.
“Like I said. dream on. I stared straight into his eyes. “If you are not the same Reuben that I knew six years ago, then I am not the same old Willow you knew. There is no way you can get me back. Even if it costs me my life to escape from you. I am willing to pay that price!” I declared.
Reuben’s grip on my wrist tightened as his expression turned blank and emotionless. He hated change and challenges as usual he was easily triggered by them. “You are no longer the same old Willow?” he chuckled softly. “Don’t you understand that only increases my craving for you?” He slowly let go of my hand and pulled me closer by my waist. I put my hand on his chest in alarm as he said, “So I will love tasting this new flavor of yours.”
